On Monday night, Fox News host Tucker Carlson aired a previously unseen security footage on his show, “Tucker Carlson Tonight”, which showed U.S. Capitol Police escorting a now-notorious figure from the January 6 protests- Jacob Chansley, also known as the "QAnon Shaman"- around Capitol grounds and into its Senate chamber.
The released footage depicted officers guiding Chansley past other law enforcement personnel without any attempt to apprehend him. It showed them eventually assisting him in opening an entrance to the chamber before allowing him entry. As a result of the events at the Capitol on January 6th, Chansley was charged with “obstructing an official proceeding” and was given nearly four years in prison. In an interview from jail, he expressed regret for trusting that the police officers were sanctioning his behavior
Tucker Carlson preceded his airing of this security footage with his own monologue regarding possible federal agent provocateurs who may have been deliberately inciting violence among protesters present at the event.
“For more than two years, we have wondered why some in the crowd that day who seemed to be inciting violence were never indicted for it. We assumed these were federal agents of some sort. We still assume that,” Carlson said on his show prior to releasing the tapes.
“In fact, there were many examples of behavior that we saw in those tapes that didn’t seem to make sense. Men in civilian clothes holding doors open for protestors, escorting others through the Capitol, et cetera. We would love to know who those people were.”
This narrative has been heavily influenced by Democrats and media outlets which have cast Chansley as a dangerous conspiracy theorist who instigated the violent uprising against democracy in America.
Hopefully, this is all just the beginning of really getting to the truth of what happened that day...the REAL truth.
