A potential constitutional crisis looms on the horizon of the Hunter Biden investigation, as lawyer Clark recently warned U.S. prosecutors that if his client is charged, they will invoke the President of the United States, Joe Biden, as a witness in any potential trial. The threat comes amid speculation that the Biden clan might be under criminal investigation, due to information leaked to the public that federal prosecutors allegedly have enough evidence to charge Hunter Biden for illegally purchasing a firearm despite being a drug addict.

The drama of the U.S. Department of Justice possibly charging Hunter Biden further intensified with reports that special counsel David Weiss is now asking the U.S. Attorney General to be installed as the special counsel in the case. This is because two IRS whistleblowers reported that the Biden probe was stifled due to pressure from higher-ups at the Department of Justice. Weiss is reportedly now demanding Hunter Biden plead guilty to two misdemeanor tax crimes and enter a deferred prosecution agreement on a gun charge, upping the leverage he can employ in future negotiations.

The announcement of Weiss' involvement brought a warning from Clark, “President Biden now unquestionably would be a fact witness for the defense in any criminal trial.” He further warned that if Hunter is charged, it would trigger a “spectacle of a sitting President testifying at a criminal trial” and potentially create a “Constitutional crisis.”

The revelation of the possible testimony of President Biden has shaken Biden supporters and Republicans alike. The thought of any president from either party possibly being subpoenaed to testify in a criminal trial against a relative is unprecedented in American politics. President Biden's response to the news has been the classic politician’s answer; in an official White House press release, he stated, “President Biden is not a part of this criminal investigation and does not discuss any such matters with his family.”

The pending decision of if and how to charge Hunter Biden leaves a litany of questions unanswered. What consequences will follow if Hunter is charged? How will the President handle the situation if he is asked to testify? Will the case potentially lead to a constitutional crisis? As of now, all questions remain unanswered, but if Clark and Weiss’s warnings come to fruition, the Biden family could soon be thrust into the center of an unprecedented and historic legal battle.
