The Super Bowl champions, the Kansas City Chiefs, visited the White House Monday to be honored by President Joe Biden, but kicker Harrison Butker made a special statement without saying a word. Butker wore a tie with “Vulnerari Praesidio” on it, which translates to “protect the most vulnerable.” The tie was designed by the pro-life organization Live Action, and it included a gold pin with baby feet on it, representing the size of a 10-week-old aborted baby.
Based Catholic!

“I want to give the most vulnerable, the unborn, a voice at a place where every effort has been made to allow and normalize the tragic termination of their lives,” said Butker in a statement.
Butker, a devout Catholic, didn’t have to say too much with his tie, as he noted that President Biden is a professing Catholic who leads “the most pro-abortion administration in history.” Butker’s statement has sparked some controversy, with many disagreeing with his pro-life stance.
“As a father who has experienced three miscarriages, my wife and I understand the hardships that come with losing a child,” Butker continued. “Every life is precious, and should be valued, whether outside or inside the womb.”
Butker was a major contributor to the Chiefs’ victory over the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LVII, first nailing the game-winning field goal in the AFC Championship Game against the Cincinnati Bengals. He also put the finishing touches on the most recent Super Bowl with a field goal late in the fourth quarter. It was his second Super Bowl victory, after the Chiefs’ win over the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LIV, though the team couldn’t go to the White House that year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Butker has been in the NFL since 2017, first with the Carolina Panthers and then joining the Chiefs the following year. He has been the team’s placekicker since then, nailing 164 out of 186 attempts, with his longest last year at 62 yards.
Butker’s tie was a special way of delivering his message without saying a word, but it’s clear it was an important one for him to share. His pro-life stance has created some discussion as the country continues to grapple with abortion issues, and while Butker may have generated some controversy, it’s evident he won’t back down anytime soon.
