Target, a widely-shopped chain store, has come under fire from conservative radio host and litigator Mark Levin for declining to carry his new book, The Democrat Party Hates America.
The book, which Levin has started reading excerpts of on his radio show, is an uncompromising attack on the way in which Democrats have misused the power of the government to undermine the fundamental values of America.
However, despite the book’s success among conservative listeners, Target has declined to carry the book. According to Levin, Target informed his publisher that the book would not be stocked due to fear of offending Democrats who may shop there.

This contradicts the chain store’s approach to a different, highly controversial area of merchandise – clothing designed for the transgender community – which Target added to their inventory in response to Pride Month, according to a report by the Associated Press.
Consequently, there was an intense backlash, and Target responded by removing certain items from their shelves, moving the Pride merchandise from the front of stores to the back in some Southern stores, and making other changes to their LGBTQ inventory.
Levin’s allegations against Target have gained traction, and many prominent conservatives, including Mike Huckabee and Governor Greg Abbott, have come out in support of the book.
While Levin has insisted that he is not motivated by financial gain, he has been calling on his listeners to boycott the chain store.
Target is yet to make a public response to the allegations and has declined to comment as to whether it will reconsider its decision and stock Levin’s book.
This is not the first time Target has been accused of displaying bias against conservatives. Last year, the company was criticized for refusing to stock a book by conservative author Dinesh D’Souza, entitled United States of Socialism.
The book accused Democrats of embracing socialism and sparked similar protests, with prominent Republicans calling for a boycott of Target.
In light of the uproar, Target eventually reversed its decision and began selling the book. The store has yet to comment as to whether it will do the same for Levin’s book.
