Ladies and gentlemen, things are heating up on the political stage as the Republican National Committee (RNC) has taken a bold step by launching a website that puts Vice President Kamala Harris’ policies under the microscope.
The twist? They did this before Harris’ own campaign website even had a policy platform up! The RNC snagged the domain kamala2024policies.com and filled it with what they call Harris’ “dangerously liberal policies,” sparking quite the debate.
So, what's on this site? Well, it dives deep into Harris’ record on issues like criminal justice, immigration, the economy, and her stance on the Green New Deal. The website pulls no punches, branding Harris as “weak, failed, and dangerously liberal.”
It goes on to say that her policies are so radical that they make the progressive Squad look like moderates. According to the site, Harris wants to abolish borders, let criminals run rampant, and essentially dismantle the American Dream.
One interesting point of contention has been Harris’ economic proposals. On August 6, she rolled out her first policy plan, which aimed to eliminate taxes on tips for service and hospitality workers—a move that, interestingly enough, former President Donald Trump had proposed back in June.
Harris also made some big promises about economic reforms last week, including price controls on food and offering up to $25,000 for first-time homeowners. But here’s the catch: her campaign website doesn’t provide much detail on these sweeping proposals.
Trump and his allies have been quick to attack, labeling Harris’ economic ideas as “communist.” The former president has even taken to calling her “Comrade Kamala,” accusing her of pushing socialist price controls that could worsen the country’s economic woes.
The RNC’s website doesn’t stop at economics, though. It digs into Harris’ past comments on health care, noting her support for eliminating private health insurance and co-sponsoring Bernie Sanders’ “Medicare-for-All” plan. And let’s not forget her climate agenda—Harris has proudly touted her efforts to deliver the most ambitious climate goals in history, which include banning fracking and canceling the Keystone XL pipeline.
What’s more, as the Democratic National Convention kicked off, the party’s platform still listed President Joe Biden as the nominee, raising some eyebrows. Some Democrats have suggested that Harris should keep her exact platform under wraps until after the election— a strategy that would be pretty unusual for a presidential candidate.
