Walz Discusses Attempting To Meet People Where They Are At During Podcast Interview

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz (D) made inflammatory remarks about Trump supporters during an appearance on California Governor Gavin Newsom’s (D) new podcast, This Is Gavin Newsom. Walz claimed he could “kick most of their a***s” and suggested that conservative men fear him because he “can fix a truck.”

The podcast, which Newsom launched this month, was marketed as a space for conversations with people he disagrees with. However, Walz’s appearance contradicted that premise, as both governors spent much of the episode deriding conservatives. While Newsom acknowledged the need to “respect people you disagree with,” Walz interrupted to push back, dismissing the idea entirely.

“How do you fight it?” Walz asked. “I think I could kick most of their a**. I do think that.”

Newsom attempted to shift the discussion toward the growing support for conservative figures like Steve Bannon and Charlie Kirk, noting that Democrats are losing male voters. “It’s not just white men,” Newsom admitted. “We are losing them…to these guys online.”

Walz responded by labeling conservative influencers “bad guys” and suggested that Republican men are driven by “racism and misogyny.” He also declared that he wants to push them “back under a rock.”

The discussion later turned to masculinity, with Walz claiming that conservatives find him intimidating. “I think some of us scare them. I think I scare them, which is why they spend so much time on me,” he said. “I can fix a truck. They know I’m not bulls******g on this.” Newsom laughed uncomfortably in response.

The episode drew criticism from multiple figures, including Caitlyn Jenner, who responded to the clip by posting an image of a clown, writing, “I am more ‘masculine’ than this.”
