President Donald Trump announced the White House Fraud Whistleblower Incentive Program on Tuesday at the White House. He immediately awarded independent journalist Nick Shirley a $10,000 check for exposing childcare fraud in Minnesota.
The program lets any American report corruption at the new fraud.gov website. Trump stated that reporters who find a billion dollars will receive a 1% commission on that amount. He confirmed this rule applies even if the recovered sum reaches $400 billion.
.@POTUS: Today, I'm thrilled to announce the Fraud Whistleblower Incentive Program. Americans will now be able to report cases of corruption and theft of taxpayer dollars in their communities via a new website — and they'll be given a commission of one percent. https://t.co/c3Glzk52jI

Nick Shirley was in the Oval Office when the President made the announcement. Shirley previously reported on alleged fraud at the Quality Learning Center in Minnesota. His work led to federal investigations and a guilty plea for wire fraud.
Trump explained that the whistleblower must prove they were the one to find the fraud. "You have to prove that you were the one, and prove that it was you," Trump said, according to Breitbart. He noted that the President himself will act as the final arbitrator for any disputes.
Trump promised fair and fast decisions for those who help save taxpayer money. "I'll determine, and I will be very generous," Trump said regarding the process, according to the Washington Examiner. He added that the arbitration will be binding so people get their money immediately.

Vice President JD Vance was present to support the new initiative. Vance shared that Trump came up with the idea during a conversation about saving the country. He recounted the President saying, "Actually reward people when they help save the country."
The administration set aside a $25 million fund for this new incentive program. Individual rewards are advertised at up to $30,000 for tips that lead to convictions. The website was created by Chief Design Officer Joe Gebbia to make reporting easy.
Trump believes the phone will be ringing off the hook with reports from citizens. "If you turn somebody in, you get a 1 percent commission," Trump said to the reporters. He joked that some might leave their jobs because the process is so simple.

Trump pointed to recent wins in cleaning up government waste before the event. He cited the removal of 160,000 deceased individuals from food stamp rolls. He also noted the elimination of $125 billion in subsidies for foreign migrants.
This new program helps the White House Task Force to Eliminate Fraud. Vice President JD Vance chairs this task force to ensure the system works correctly. The goal is to stop theft of taxpayer dollars in local communities across America.
