The White House Press Corps must be having a rough time these days. For years, they thrived on a steady diet of “Trump is a threat to democracy” headlines, their ratings riding high on manufactured outrage. But now? Trump is back, winning big, and the old narratives just aren’t working anymore.

CNN and MSNBC are watching their ratings sink like a stone, while the Trump administration racks up accomplishment after accomplishment. And last Thursday, Stephen Miller—White House Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy and Homeland Security Advisor—decided to make things even more uncomfortable for the press. He dropped into the briefing room not just to outline the administration’s early successes but to deliver a much-needed civics lesson to reporters who seem to have forgotten how the government actually works.

"It is true that many of the people in this room for four years failed to cover the fact that Joe Biden was mentally incompetent and was not running the country.”

"The existential threat to democracy is the unelected bureaucracy of lifetime-tenured civil servants who believe they answer to no one."

The press, of course, has no interest in that conversation. They prefer to pretend that a shadow government of unaccountable bureaucrats is a good thing—so long as they’re the right kind of bureaucrats.

Miller kicked off the briefing with a little showmanship, grinning as he addressed the room, fully aware that many in the audience could barely stand him. Then he let them have it:

"I want to thank you all for joining today our one-month celebration of the most historic opening to a presidency in American history. No president comes close to what President Trump has achieved over just the last 30 days.

He has packed eight years of transformative action—restoring this nation, restoring our laws, economic opportunity, and national security—into just one month. No one in this country has ever seen anything like it."

And the list of accomplishments? It speaks for itself. The Trump administration has:

  • Shut down Biden’s open-border policies
  • Purged the federal government of divisive DEI initiatives
  • Ended radical gender ideology in government institutions
  • Stopped men from competing in women’s sports
  • Refocused the military on actual readiness and lethality instead of social justice distractions

Oh, and then there’s the new Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which has been working overtime to root out corruption and waste. Miller praised Elon Musk for uncovering levels of fraud that were previously thought unimaginable.
