Well, well, well—if this Quinnipiac poll is any indication, the Democratic Party is in absolute free fall. After years of disastrous policies, cultural overreach, and a total disconnect from the American working class, their approval rating now sits at a brutal net -26.
That’s right—only 31% of voters still have a favorable view of the Democrats, while a staggering 57% say no thanks. And among independents? It gets even worse. Just 22% of them can still stomach the party that spent years pushing radical policies while ignoring real American struggles.
Meanwhile, Republicans may not be winning popularity contests across the board, but they’re doing far better by comparison. The GOP is sitting at a 43% favorability rating, with independents giving them a solid 36%. Not great, but compared to the Democrats' sinking ship, it’s practically a victory parade.
And then there’s the man himself—President Donald J. Trump. After storming back into office on a tidal wave of voter discontent, Trump is now enjoying a positive favorability rating. Yes, you read that right—47% of Americans view Trump favorably, compared to just 45% unfavorably. That’s a 10-point improvement from the start of his first term. And if the liberal media thought his second presidency would start off rocky, well, the American people are telling a different story.
Perhaps most shocking (at least to the beltway elites) is the overwhelming support for Trump’s decisive action on the border. A full 60% of Americans approve of his move to send troops to stop the flood of illegal crossings.
And here’s a number that’s sure to send the left into a meltdown—44% of voters now support the deportation of all illegal immigrants. Remember when Democrats thought open borders would be a winning issue? Turns out, Americans aren’t interested in watching their cities collapse under the weight of unchecked migration.
Vice President JD Vance is still an unknown to many, with 23% saying they don’t know enough about him. But of those who do, he’s already at a net positive rating—39% favorable, 36% unfavorable. Not bad for someone the media tried to paint as an extremist.
But here’s the real headline—Americans are optimistic about Trump’s second term. Fifty-four percent say they feel good about the future of the country, compared to just 42% who are pessimistic. That’s a major shift in the national mood, and a clear sign that voters are ready to move past the chaos, inflation, and incompetence of the last four years.
And if anyone thinks this Quinnipiac poll is an outlier, they’re in for a rude awakening. Economist/YouGov and Rasmussen both show Trump in the positive, with net approval ratings of +4 and +7, respectively. That’s a huge contrast to the polling from his first term, when the media, big tech, and the D.C. establishment were all working overtime to keep him underwater.
