Olivia Dunne is becoming an even bigger star after her patriotic declaration last weekend at a NASCAR race.
The 20-year-old LSU gymnast, who recently became the highest-paid female college athlete due to her endorsement deals, declared that her pronouns are “USA” while attending the race at the Nashville Superspeedway. The video has since gone viral, with millions of views and likes on her TikTok account. NASCAR even shared a photo of Dunne with a headset on at the race, welcoming her to the event.
“My pronouns are U-S-A!” Dunne proclaimed in the video, which she posted next to two uniformed U.S. Army soldiers.
The 2023 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model is always showing her support for the U.S., and encouraged others to be “proud to be an American.”
“There’s nothing like the patriotism that comes with standing up for what this country stands for,” Dunne tweeted on Sunday.
Her patriotism was also seen at the game, as she was the one who initiated the National Anthem at the beginning of the race.
The video sparked a flurry of positive responses across social media, with some praising her for standing up for her country and others calling her “a true role model.”
“The pride in her voice is beyond touching,” one user tweeted in response to the video.
Meanwhile, Dunne’s college coach, D-D Breaux, couldn’t be more proud of her. He said that her commitment to LSU and to her country “speaks volumes about her character.”
Dunne has more than 7.6 million followers on TikTok and more than 4.2 million followers on Instagram. As the most followed female college athlete and one of the most successful competitors on the NCAA circuit, she clearly isn’t afraid to show her patriotic side.
And she’s not done yet.
With the road to becoming an Olympic athlete still ahead of her, who knows what else Dunne will do next to show her love for her country.
