Harris Visits Augusta, Georgia To Hurricane Effected Area

On Wednesday, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris finally made their way to North Carolina and Georgia to survey the destruction left behind by Hurricane Helene. But amidst the devastation, Kamala Harris's remarks were nothing short of disappointing. Instead of offering significant relief or concrete support, she made an almost laughable promise: $750 in aid to those affected by the storm. It's a number that feels more like a slap in the face than actual help, especially considering some families may have lost everything.

Think about it—if you’ve just lost your home or livelihood, $750 barely covers a few nights in a hotel and some food for your family. To add insult to injury, Harris mentioned that people could apply for this payment online. This raises a critical question: how are people supposed to apply online when many are without power? Her tone-deaf statement sparked outrage across social media, with many questioning the priorities of this administration.

Critics were quick to point out the stark contrast between the funds being spent domestically versus abroad. How is it that we have billions to send to Ukraine or fund services for illegal immigrants, yet only offer a mere $750 to our own citizens in desperate need? It's a pittance in comparison, and people are rightfully asking where the real priorities lie.

Meanwhile, Biden, true to form, made his appearance in North Carolina. And while everyone around him moved with urgency, he seemed to lag, moving slowly to take his seat, reinforcing the perception that this is a leader who is often missing in action when he’s needed most. But it wasn’t just his sluggish demeanor that frustrated people—it was how he used this disaster as an opportunity to push his climate change narrative. Instead of focusing on immediate aid and relief, Biden took a swipe at anyone not subscribing to his climate change agenda. It’s a tired routine, one he rolls out after every major storm, and it does nothing to help those who are actually suffering.

To top it off, Biden boasted about how Starlink systems were being directed to aid communication in the affected areas. The irony here is staggering. What about the $42 billion the Biden administration allocated to the broadband initiative meant to connect rural areas? To date, it’s unclear what that money has accomplished, if anything at all. Yet, here’s Biden talking about Elon Musk’s Starlink, while his own initiative remains incomplete.

Meanwhile, Trump reached out to Musk to discuss the great need for Starlink in these disaster zones, and Musk quickly responded by deploying additional systems to help. It’s a stark contrast: one leader taking real action to solve problems, and another, well, just showing up.
