You expect a protest to be loud but orderly. You do not expect a historic tourism office to be set on fire in the heart of France. That is exactly what happened this past Saturday.
In Lyon, France's third-largest city, about 20,000 people joined the march. But the mood turned dark fast. Rioters broke windows and set the Lyon tourist office ablaze. Smoke and flames rose from the building while masked men ransacked the inside. RedState reported that the statue of famous chef Paul Bocuse was knocked over in the chaos.
The violence did not stop in one city. In Paris, a kiosk for newspapers and a car were burned. Tear gas and water cannons were deployed by police to drive back masked individuals wearing hoods. Fireworks and paving stones were hurled by these rioters at officers located in the Place de la République.

Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez's office described "a growing number of violent incidents," including assaults on police and damage to public buildings. Across the nation, authorities stated that 272 arrests were made at minimum. Breitbart News reported that the past 48 hours saw mass riots with some 800,000 protesters taking their grievances to the streets.
Why is this happening? Reports point to a sharp divide. According to RedState, the protesters expressed fury over "high prices and the fraying of a social welfare system" The CGT union backed the protests, calling for "higher wages and pensions" and lower prices.

But the reaction from American leaders is different. President Donald Trump attributed the riots to the unrestricted entry of illegal migrants. On Sunday, he posted on his Truth Social platform: "France is burning". Immigration from an entirely different world, bringing people with hatred in their hearts, shattered that once great country.
He urged the nation to tighten its rules. "Close your Borders and take control, before it is too late". Trump said. Vice President JD Vance added his own warning. He remarked that Western liberals imported the third world in the name of diversity and ignored assimilation.

Vance prayed that France would stop this madness before more landmarks burn. Then he turned his eyes to us. "I hope Americans are paying attention," Vance said. "This is the future congressional Democrats seek for your country".
The mayor of Lyon called the burning of the tourist office "a tragedy" for the city. He described it as "a very iconic, well-known historic building". Meanwhile, the rioters were also looting stores and leaving everything a wreck.
Western liberals imported the third world into France and other countries in the name of diversity and compassion. They ignored fundamental questions of assimilation and compatibility. They were told it would lead to this and they didn't listen.
I pray that France, a beautiful country of amazing people, will stop this madness before more of its landmarks burn.
And I hope Americans are paying attention. This is the future congressional Democrats seek for your country.

The contrast is stark. One side sees a fight for wages and public services. The other side sees a shattered country driven by bad policy. The facts on the ground show fire and broken glass. The words from Washington show a clear line in the sand.
