Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk may face off in a highly anticipated cage match in Las Vegas this October.
Tesla and Space X CEO, Elon Musk, was the first to post on Twitter offering the challenge. He wrote, “I’m up for a cage match if he is lol.” This week, Zuckerberg uploaded an Instagram story of Musk’s tweet and simply said “Send Me Location.”
The feud between the two business titans has been intensifying by the day with both the men's rapidly expanding empires now competing in similar social media marketplaces. Just last month, Elon Musk purchased Twitter while Mark Zuckerberg is the founder, chairman, and CEO of Facebook, which also includes Instagram.
A spokesperson of Zuckerberg’s Meta organization, Iska Saric, has both confirmed and commented on the feud in an interview with Alex Heath from The Verge. Saric said, “The story speaks for itself.”
It’s still unclear whether the cage fight is an offer to settle any disputes between the two entrepreneurs or just a chance for the two heavyweights to show off their athletic prowess. The two men clearly have very different views of exercise. On Twitter last year, Musk said he mostly avoids physical activity, except picking up his kids and throwing them in the air. Meanwhile, in the same month, Zuckerberg announced he had earned medals at his first Jiu-Jitsu tournament.
Although the details of the fight remain unclear, the likelihood of it actually taking place is impossible to ignore. In response to Zuckerberg’s Instagram post, Musk tweeted “Vegas octagon” and even a possible move if it goes ahead. Musk wrote, "I have this great move that I call 'The Walrus', where I just lie on top of my opponent & do nothing.”
I’ve confirmed that Mark Zuckerberg is serious about fighting @elonmusk and is now waiting on the details (if Musk decides to follow through)

The cage match has already created a buzz around the world, with millions of people curious to find out what the two tech moguls will do and if there will be any real resolution of their long-standing feud or if the epic battle will go down in history as just a publicity stunt. Either way, we’ll have to wait until October to get the answers.
