Democrat Lawmakers Hold Rally Over USAID

If you ever needed proof that the federal government operates like a rogue cartel laundering taxpayer money under the guise of "international aid," look no further than USAID—the slush fund that funneled billions to foreign governments with zero oversight. And now, under President Donald Trump, it's finally getting the axe.

Let’s rewind a bit. Remember ZunZuneo? The so-called “Cuban Twitter” that mysteriously popped up in the early 2010s, gained massive popularity, and then suddenly vanished? Turns out, it was a covert U.S. government operation, created and funded by USAID, in an attempt to stir up opposition against Cuba’s communist regime. The whole scheme was funded with American tax dollars that were supposed to go to Pakistan. Instead, USAID laundered the money through fake companies in Spain and the Cayman Islands, then used it to build a social media network aimed at triggering anti-government protests in Havana.

Congress didn’t authorize it. The American people didn’t know about it. But USAID did it anyway.

And what were the consequences? Nothing. No one was held accountable. No one went to jail. No one even lost their job. The agency that was originally created to provide humanitarian aid has been operating as an unchecked, taxpayer-funded regime change machine for decades, laundering billions through its phony "development programs" while Washington politicians pretend not to notice.

Now, fast forward to today. USAID, which was already notorious for funding "activists" and "NGOs" that mysteriously pop up before every color revolution abroad, has been funneling tens of billions into Ukraine. Officially, the money is earmarked for an "economic support fund," but in reality, it's a bottomless pit of corruption, being used to prop up the Ukrainian government, pay the salaries of its bureaucrats, and, more than likely, bankroll propaganda and intelligence operations that the American people will never hear about.

And who authorized this spending? Technically, Congress did. But no one knows where the money is actually going. There are no itemized budgets. No accountability. No oversight. Just an endless pipeline of cash disappearing into a black hole, while working-class Americans struggle under record inflation and crippling interest rates.

And now, finally, President Trump has decided to put an end to it.

USAID’s website has been shut down. Its employees were locked out of their offices. And Elon Musk—who, let’s not forget, has his own history of exposing government corruption—has backed Trump’s move to shut the entire agency down. Just like that, a government slush fund that has been operating for over 60 years is being dismantled before our eyes.

Naturally, the Democrats are losing their minds.

Ilhan Omar, whose home country of Somalia has long been a recipient of U.S. aid money (much of which has conveniently disappeared over the years), is now shrieking that this is the beginning of a "Trump dictatorship." Because in the Democrats' world, a president who refuses to waste taxpayer money overseas is somehow a "dictator."

Then we have Jamie Raskin, who actually tried to argue that Trump and Musk are "impounding taxpayer money." No, Jamie. They're saving it. They’re preventing it from being wasted on coup attempts, propaganda, and "LGBTQ theater programs" in foreign countries that the American people never agreed to fund in the first place.

And then there’s Chuck Schumer, who took things one step further, warning that if USAID can be shut down, then maybe one day the IRS could be shut down too. As if that’s supposed to scare people. Imagine a world where hardworking Americans don’t have to live in fear of being audited and having their assets seized to pay for rainbow murals in Kazakhstan. Sounds fantastic.

But here’s the real reason the left is panicking: This isn’t just about USAID. This is about the entire corrupt system of government spending being exposed.

For decades, billions of taxpayer dollars have been funneled through unaccountable agencies, used to prop up foreign regimes, fund opposition groups, and launder money into the pockets of elites. And no one was ever supposed to ask questions.
