CNN has become entirely synonymous with misinformation, and that's putting it kindly.
The more accurate description of CNN would be that the company is full of liars and immoral low-lifes.
Recently, a video clip went viral which showed Tucker Carlson catching CNN red-handed spreading disinformation.
Carlson created a media firestorm when he complained about the failure of the mainstream media to check factual information carefully.
Several critics immediately cited his statement he could not locate a QAnon website in online posts without discussing the underlying gist of his segment: the allegedly inaccurate presentation of information about police shootings of unarmed African-American suspects during 2019, creating an impression of widespread racism by law enforcement.
Carlson showed several video clips of nationally known news hosts characterizing the shooting of Jacob Blake as officers firing on "an unarmed" suspect. These speakers failed to mention Blake (by his own admission) carried a knife at the time of the shooting. Tucker Carlson also cited research presented by the Skeptics Research Center suggesting left-wing survey takers more readily believe police during 2019 had killed 1,000 (or more) African-Americans (not the reported figure of 27).
“So it’s worth finding out where the public is getting all this false information — this ‘disinformation,’ as we’ll call it,” Carlson stated. “So we checked. We spent all day trying to locate the famous QAnon, which in the end we learned is not even a website. If it’s out there, we could not find it. Then we checked Marjorie Taylor Greene’s Twitter feed because we have heard she traffics in disinformation, CNN told us, but nothing there.”
“Who is lying to America,” Carlson asked, “in ways that are certain to make us hate each other and certain to destroy our core institutions?”
The answer, he said, was cable news outlets like CNN and MSNBC and Democratic politicians talking on TV and spreading harmful disinformation about police shootings. He then played clips of them perpetuating false narratives that have further inflamed tensions, which some have alleged helped motivate BLM/Antifa-led agitators to riot, loot, and burn down buildings and target federal courthouses last year.
The irony here is that in their hot takes on a segment about how CNN was a constant driver of misinformation designed to deliberately mislead people and deepen the political divides in American society, CNN actually proved Carlson’s point perfectly:
