After a nearly two-week manhunt, Casey White and Vicky White were finally apprehended.
As you may be aware, Vicky, an experienced officer in an Alabama jail, assisted convicted killer Casey White in escaping, and the two of them embarked on a once-in-a-lifetime drama.
They were apprehended earlier this week in Evansville, Indiana, after they were tracked down and a police chase ensued. After US Marshals rammed their getaway automobile, it ran off into a ditch and rolled over onto its side.
At some point, the officer who helped him escape, shot herself in a suicide attempt. It ultimately worked, but not after suffering for some time because she didn't instantly die.
Meanwhile, Casey White was apprehended and arrested. Lucky for us, dashcam and body cam footage has been released on the incident. In a portion of the video, you can see the 6-foot-9-inch man towering over police officers.
This is really a horrible situation. His life isn't ruined as a result of this. He's still going to prison so not much has really changed in that regard. What's sad is that Vicky was close to retirement where she could have lived a nice life, but now she's dead.
The incident could have been much worse because the two had several guns in the car including four handguns and an AR-15. It looks like they wanted to go out in Bonnie and Clyde style, but I guess Casey decided to just go back to prison since Vicky has already killed herself. Maybe he would just find another guard to sweettalk and try the stunt once again. It's not unheard of for someone to escape prison multiple times.
Take a look at some of the video footage. There isn't anything graphic in it since they blur out Vicky when they pull her out of the vehicle.
