Both U.S. Houses of Congress are split virtually right down the middle. There is close to an equal number of Democrats and Republicans in the House of Representatives. The 100 seats in the United States Senate are divided 50-50. This is not a coincidence; it’s by design.
Americans spoke with their vote. Nevertheless, the radical liberal left thinks they have some sort of national mandate to turn our nation upside down. They do not. Consequently, their true colors are being exposed. Radical liberals are trying to permanently lock themselves in power.
The way they’ll accomplish this is to blow up U.S. Election laws. Liberal progressives are attempting to strip states of their constitutional right to handle federal elections. Proposed Democrat legislation would federalize all national elections, including the presidency.
If enacted, Republicans may never control either House of Congress again. In addition, and even more likely, a conservative would never win the White House again. Our two-party democracy would be transformed into a single-party controlled socialist state.
With permanent control of both Houses of Congress and the White House, essentially forever, liberals would run roughshod over American values. In a few short years, the United States of America would be a shell of its proud self. True democracy will die.
To achieve this, liberals have combined two bills and rammed them through the closely divided House of Representatives. Together, the John Lewis Voting Rights Act and the Freedom to Vote Act would destroy the United States’ two-party democratic system.
Joe Biden acts as if his radical spend and tax bills are the priority. Certainly, liberals would love to shove open the door to economic socialism. However, federal election changes are the single legislative act, which would prove the most dangerous attack on our democracy.
The so-called voting rights legislation is far and away the liberal left’s number one goal. However, American democracy is standing in the way. To cram through their radical changes to U.S. election laws, Biden and his liberal cronies must get the bill through the Senate.
They need 60 votes. Because of the important Senate filibuster, this is impossible. So what’s the liberal left’s solution? Change the rules, move the goalposts, blow up the filibuster. But wait a minute; aren’t these the same Democrats who chastised some Republicans for the same idea?
Yes, it most certainly is. The push to destroy a longstanding tool of the Senate minority has exposed the true hypocrisy of the Democrat Party. Just five years ago, more than half the Democrats currently in the U.S. Senate signed a letter defending the filibuster.
Now, all but two vocal moderate Democrats are silent on Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer’s call to explode the rule. Amazingly, the change in position is even more alarming coming out of Chuck Schumer’s mouth.
In 2005, Schumer is quoted saying, “Bottom line is very simple: The ideologues in the Senate want to turn what the Founding Fathers called ‘the cooling saucer of democracy’ into the rubber stamp of dictatorship . . . It’ll be a doomsday for democracy if we do.”
Schumer’s voting record shows he supported keeping the Senate filibuster over 500 times. Yes, it’s amazing how the liberal left talks out of both sides of their mouth when the situation fits their agenda. Again, it’s called hypocrisy.

However, maybe the biggest hypocrite of all is Joe Biden. Biden wants to make household changes to the filibuster to pass the voting reform bills. But what has Biden’s position been on the filibuster? Has Joe Biden ever used the Senate filibuster? He sure has.
Interestingly, his support for the Senate filibuster goes back at least to 2003. As a Delaware Senator, Biden voted against cloture 18 times as Republicans sought to confirm 10 federal judge nominations made by President George W. Bush.
In 2005, Biden’s own words were recorded in a video. In an animated speech, Biden bellowed, “I pray God when the Democrats take back control, we don’t make the kind of naked power grab you are doing.” But now Biden says he advocates eliminating the filibuster to pass HR1.
In 2005, Biden warned against ending the filibuster:
"[Republicans] may own the field right now, but you won't own it forever. And I pray God when the Democrats take back control, we don't make the kind of naked power grab you are doing." pic.twitter.com/rq4oaDOCVY

Doesn’t it seem odd that he wants to make changes he warned would destroy democracy? The truth is in the priority piece of legislation in question. Longstanding support for the filibuster among both Democrats and Republicans has been steadfast.
However, suddenly Democrats want to blow it up. It’s on purpose. They say they want to make minor changes to the filibuster just so they can pass one type of legislation, the voting rights bills. Well, sure they do. Once they get that bill passed, it’s over for Republicans.
One, so-called temporary change to the filibuster, just to alter our federal election laws, will seal the deal. Liberals will be permanently entrenched in power. Nothing will be off the table. The U.S. Supreme Court will be packed with radically liberal judges.
Police and law enforcement across our nation will be stripped of their authority. Millions of illegal migrants will flood our borders and then be allowed to vote. Taxes will skyrocket. Wages will plummet. The welfare state will explode. The United States will no longer be a democracy.
We will become a communist socialism state controlled by liberal elites. All this will happen rapidly if one corrupt alteration of Senate rules passes. This supposedly momentary change will permanently alter the nation. It cannot be allowed to happen.
Americans should pray common sense Democrats like Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema stand their ground. Clearly, the liberal hypocrites in their party will not. One momentary change in Senate rules will be the destruction of a democracy. In a sense, Chuck Schumer was right.
