Uvalde Shooter Taken Down Only Because Border Agents Ignored Police

I'm not sure what to make of the school shooting in Uvalde, Texas at this point. Obviously, it's a tragedy, and I don't believe it was a hoax, though there are always those who believe that every single tragedy that occurs in our country was meticulously organized as if we live in a nation of upright citizens.

That doesn't negate the fact that this was a catastrophic disaster that resulted in the deaths of countless individuals, especially children.

In my mind, I can't make sense of why it took them so long to take out the shooter, and honestly, it would have taken even longer if it weren't for the border agents who essentially told the local police force to get lost and saved the day.

Agents from the Border Patrol arrived far sooner than previously stated. According to a story from Texas Monthly, the CPB BORTAC SWAT team was investigating stash homes on the border to the west of Uvalde, and agents not on the SWAT team also hurried to the school. Around 12:15 p.m., they arrived to Robb Elementary School.

According to a number of reports, the agents did not coordinate their efforts with the Uvalde Police Department because of the department's inadequate response. They took action on their own after being advised to wait by local police. They broke through the door about 12:50 p.m. and engaged the Uvalde school shooter.

This is a shocking new revelation that was revealed just tonight, three days after the massacre.

Honestly, though, I just can't even rationalize what was going on here. How could nobody on the police force have been doing something about this? The only thing it seems that they did was prevent parents from going inside to rescue their children which is absolutely appalling.

According to NBC News,

Federal agents who went to Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, on Tuesday to confront a gunman who killed 19 children were told by local police to wait and not enter the school — and then decided after about half an hour to ignore that initial guidance and find the shooter, say two senior federal law enforcement officials.

It sounds to me like every one of these officers need to go start putting in applications somewhere else, because as it stands, these guys have proven worthless. Prove me wrong and I'll recant my statement.
