President Donald Trump tweeted Monday about the NASCAR Cup series banning the Confederate flag and the Bubba Wallace noose hoax.
President Trump asked in a tweet if Bubba Wallace has “apologized to all of those great NASCAR drivers & officials who came to his aid, stood by his side, & were willing to sacrifice everything for him, only to find out that the whole thing was just another HOAX?”
Trump was talking about how there was a noose found in Bubba's garage and that it turned out to be just a pull robe, not a noose placed there to intimidate the driver.
Trump also added, “That & Flag decision has caused lowest ratings EVER!” referring to NASCAR's move last month to prohibit displaying the Confederate flag.
According to CBSNEWS
President Trump on Monday lashed out at NASCAR and driver Bubba Wallace, suggesting Wallace should apologize after a noose was discovered in his garage stall at a speedway in Alabama, and calling the incident a "hoax" after an FBI investigation found the rope had been there for months.
On Twitter, Mr. Trump questioned whether Wallace, NASCAR's only Black full-time driver, had "apologized to all of those great NASCAR drivers & officials who came to his aid, stood by his side, & were willing to sacrifice everything for him, only to find out that the whole thing was just another HOAX?"
"That & Flag decision has caused lowest ratings EVER!" Mr. Trump tweeted, referencing NASCAR's decision to ban the Confederate flag at races.
Has @BubbaWallace apologized to all of those great NASCAR drivers & officials who came to his aid, stood by his side, & were willing to sacrifice everything for him, only to find out that the whole thing was just another HOAX? That & Flag decision has caused lowest ratings EVER!

Contrary to Trump’s tweet, NASCAR’s ratings have actually increased from previous years, according to Speed Report.
The flag has been commonly displayed at NASCAR races for decades. NASCAR in 2015 had asked that fans not fly the flag following the slaughter in Charleston, South Carolina, of nine Black churchgoers by racist Dylan Roof, but many fans had ignored that request.
