In an interview with Fox Business host Maria Bartiromo on Sunday, President Donald Trump said that the Russia hoax was quickly being revealed as “the greatest political crime in the history of our country.” Trump said that the FBI’s treatment of former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn was a national disgrace, and he went further, accusing former President Obama and Vice President Joe Biden of being right there in the thick of it the whole time.
“They weren’t after General Flynn,” Trump explained. “They wanted him to lie about me, make up a story. And, with few exceptions, nobody did that.”
Trump said that if the Russia hoax had happened to a Democrat, the repercussions would be immense.
“If I were a Democrat instead of a Republican, I think everybody would have been in jail a long time ago; and I’m talking with 50-year sentences,” he said. “It is a disgrace what’s happened. This is the greatest political scam, hoax in the history of our country. People should be going to jail for this stuff and hopefully a lot of people are going to have to pay. No other president should have to go through this and I’ll tell you, General Flynn and others are heroes.”
Trump said that voters should think very carefully about letting the wolves back into the henhouse.
“This was all Obama. This was all Biden. These people were corrupt,” Trump said. “The whole thing was corrupt and we caught them. They never thought they’d get caught in the act. They got sloppy. Comey is a corrupt person. Brennan is bad. They’re all bad. Clapper is not a smart guy in charge of intelligence.
“But here’s the thing,” he continued. “It was impossible for it to happen without the man that sits right in that chair in the Oval Office. He knew everything.”
Bartiromo then asked the president flat-out: “Do you believe President Obama directed the U.S. intelligence agencies to spy on you?”
“Yes, he probably directed them,” Trump said. “But if he didn’t direct them, he knew everything. Remember the Lisa Page text to her lover saying ‘POTUS wants to see everything?’ They’re not talking about me. I wasn’t president. They’re talking about POTUS wants to see everything.”
The chickens are coming home to roost for Obama, Brennan, Comey, Clapper, and the rest of these goons. But while we may be skeptical about the idea that any of them will really face the consequences of their actions (call us cynical), it’s not too late to make sure these people never see power again. That begins with keeping Joe Biden out of the White House. That’s the important thing. This year, that’s the only thing that really matters.
