Three Arrested In Connection To Texas Hotel Shooting

Here we go again — another grim headline that ties directly back to the border policies of this administration. Three Venezuelan nationals, all released into the United States under Biden’s watch, are now facing capital murder charges in Texas.

The victim? A 48-year-old man who was gunned down at a Motel 6 in Garland. This wasn’t some one-off crime of passion, either. According to law enforcement, this was part of a spree that included armed robbery and even a sexual assault — all allegedly committed by individuals who never should have been here in the first place.

Two of the suspects, Jose Trivino-Cruz and Jesus Bellorin-Guzman, didn’t sneak across the border in the dead of night.

They used the Biden administration’s Customs and Border Protection One (CBP One) app — that little online tool that allows migrants to schedule asylum appointments and, effectively, secure expedited entry into the U.S. The third suspect, Yosguar Aponte-Jimenez, crossed illegally in 2023 but was ultimately released into the country anyway.

So, let’s be crystal clear: these men were all in federal custody at one point. And they were all released. And now, one man is dead, a woman has been allegedly robbed and sexually assaulted, and DHS officials are admitting these suspects are linked to dozens of other crimes — including more than 25 robberies.

Tricia McLaughlin, Assistant Secretary at DHS, didn’t sugarcoat it: “Three depraved criminal illegal aliens from Venezuela… were released into the U.S. under the Biden administration and are now facing capital murder and robbery charges,” she said.

ICE, for its part, has lodged detainers to ensure these individuals are deported after facing justice. But let’s be honest — that’s closing the barn door after the horses bolted.

This case isn’t an outlier. It’s a symptom of a broken system where “expedited entry” takes priority over public safety. And every time one of these stories breaks, it’s the same cycle: outrage, press conferences, and promises to “fix the process” — while more criminals slip through the cracks.

One man is dead. A woman has been brutalized. And yet the administration continues to defend policies that made this possible. How many more of these headlines do we need before someone in Washington admits the obvious?
