In a recent speech, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis claimed that he had only begun to fight. For his Democratic rivals, Nikki Fried and Charlie Crist, who are vying to replace him as governor of the Sunshine State in 2022, it is some very unfortunate news.
At the Turning Point USA 2022 Student Action Summit on Friday in Tampa, DeSantis captivated an audience of 5,000 people.
When Florida's governor entered the room, the audience began clapping and chanting. He was one of the few leaders who could command a room with his presence.
Many Americans now see DeSantis as their greatest chance for the future. He is currently the public figure that the left despises the most—aside from President Trump, of course.
He urged his supporters, the Florida right, to prepare for the fight before the midterm elections in November. He made the commitment, "I've only begun to fight."
According to DeSantis, Florida has encountered significant difficulties over the past few years, similar to many other states in America. In addition to many other topics, he brought up COVID, the Biden border crisis, Critical Race Theory, gender ideology, and inflation.
By criticizing President "Brandon," he was able to win over the crowd.
“In times like these, it’s not enough to just be right on the issues. Because in times like these, there’s no substitute for courage. You got to have the courage of your convictions to be willing to stand up against the media. You got to have the courage to stand up against things like cancel culture. You got to have the courage to stand up to the woke mob. You got to have the courage to stand in the way of the Brandon administration,” DeSantis said.
DeSantis is confident that the Republicans will soundly defeat the Democrats in the midterm elections.
He concluded by exhorting his supporters to "put on the full armor of God" and to be "ready for the battle."
While the crowd cheered, DeSantis cut loose: “We are just getting warmed up. I have only begun to fight. I’m standing my ground, walking the line all the way to the finish line, and I can tell you this: with your help, and everybody behind us, there is no doubt in my mind that come November, we are going to keep the state of Florida free.”
