A Texas pediatrician who posted inflammatory political remarks following the deadly July 4 floods in Central Texas is no longer employed by her medical practice. Dr. Christina B. Propst, previously affiliated with Blue Fish Pediatrics, made a now-deleted Facebook post suggesting that Trump supporters in Kerr County “get what they voted for” after the area was devastated by flooding.
Posting under the username “Chris Tina,” Propst wrote, “May all visitors, children, non-MAGA voters and pets be safe and dry. Kerr County MAGA voted to gut FEMA. They deny climate change. May they get what they voted for. Bless their hearts.”
The remarks came as the region faced one of the most catastrophic natural disasters in its recent history. At least 80 people were confirmed dead, including 28 children. Among the most heartbreaking accounts was the discovery of two sisters, aged 13 and 11, found with rosaries in hand, holding each other in the aftermath of the flood. Ten girls from Camp Mystic remain missing.
This is the sort of pediatric clinician employed at @BlueFishMD in Houston. The ethics, humanity and empathy illustrated here is unfathomable. pic.twitter.com/yW0TbEMGN7

Following widespread public backlash, Blue Fish Pediatrics issued a formal statement Sunday announcing that Dr. Propst was no longer with the practice. The group emphasized that her comments did not reflect its values.
“The individual is no longer employed by Blue Fish Pediatrics,” the statement read. “We strongly condemn the comments that were made in that post. That post does not reflect the values, standards, or mission of Blue Fish Pediatrics. We do not support or condone any statement that politicizes tragedy, diminishes human dignity, or fails to clearly uphold compassion for every child and family, regardless of background or beliefs.”
Blue Fish also reiterated its support for the grieving families and communities affected by the disaster.
Simultaneously, some Democratic figures used the tragedy to criticize the Trump administration. Senator Chris Murphy of Connecticut posted on X that the disaster highlighted the consequences of “brainless attacks on public workers, like meteorologists.” However, there is no evidence the National Weather Service failed to issue appropriate warnings.

According to the Associated Press, the NWS dispatched flash flood warnings in the early hours of Friday, followed by rare flash flood emergencies signaling imminent danger. Jason Runyen, a meteorologist in the local NWS office, confirmed that additional staff were brought in for the event and remained on duty throughout the storm.
“There were extra people in here that night,” Runyen said. “You staff up for an event and bring people in on overtime and hold people over.”
There is no indication that federal response teams or forecasters were unprepared. The pediatrician’s remarks, and the political commentary that followed, have drawn criticism for politicizing a tragedy that continues to unfold.
