NFL legend Rob “Gronk” Gronkowski joined forces with the United Services Automobile Association (USAA) to give back to military families and veterans ahead of Saturday’s Army-Navy football game. The former Patriots star, known for his philanthropy, helped USAA gift two cars to deserving families at a special event held at Faneuil Hall on Friday.
Sergeant Robert Trevino, an Army veteran, and Petty Officer Kyle Kohlgraf, a Navy veteran, were the lucky recipients chosen by USAA. Both were nominated by nonprofits for their selfless service and sacrifices. Sgt. Trevino was paralyzed in a car crash and required a vehicle that could accommodate his special needs. The specially modified truck he received will be a valuable asset for him and his family.
Gronkowski, who has a family history in the military, was on hand to personally present the cars to the deserving families. He expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to give back to those who have served their country.
“Truly an honor to join USAA for their NABC Recycled Rides program which refurbishes vehicles for those in need,” Gronkowski wrote on Instagram. “This year, we gifted two vehicles to two deserving military families representing both Army and Navy – great to be back in Boston ahead of this year’s Army-Navy Game!”
The USAA NABC Recycled Rides program is aimed at providing refurbished vehicles to military veterans who are in need. USAA is a long-time sponsor of the Army-Navy game and has a deep commitment to supporting the armed forces and their families.

“We are extremely grateful for the sacrifices our military families and veterans have made for our country,” said Stephen Lee, USAA’s executive director of military affairs. “We hope these vehicles provide them with a sense of freedom and independence as they continue to serve and support their communities.”
The event was an emotional one for the two families, who were visibly moved by the gesture. Both families expressed their gratitude towards USAA and Gronkowski for the generous gift.
“This means the world to me and my family,” said Petty Officer Kohlgraf. “Having a reliable vehicle will make a huge difference in our lives, and we are forever grateful to USAA and Gronk for this incredible gift.”
This heartwarming event not only provided two families with cars, but it also brought together two of the biggest pillars of American culture – football and the military – in a show of compassion and support for those who have served their country. As excitement builds for the much-awaited Army-Navy game, this event served as a reminder of the true meaning behind the game – honoring the brave men and women who defend our country.
As Gronkowski and USAA continue to inspire others with their acts of kindness, it is clear that their dedication to helping military families will have a lasting impact on the community. With the spirit of giving at its forefront, this event was a shining example of the power of collaboration and generosity.
