A person with a drug or alcohol problem is not idolized by anyone. Millions of American lives and families are destroyed each year by alcoholism and drug addiction. Anyone who has experience rehabilitation, though, will tell you that no one ever earns a "get out of jail free card" for misconduct.
Regardless of the justification, "I didn't mean to, if you only had my life, or my wife is the Speaker of the House" will always be used as an excuse. However, it looks like Nancy Pelosi's husband, Paul, is attempting to use the latter as a trump card and a way to get himself off the hook.
According to the report, Pelosi was so intoxicated that he lost control of his car. While Pelosi pundits may try and emphasize that Paul's blood alcohol content wasn't extremely high, the fact remains that it was still above the legal limit.
However, there is a significant problem with the timetable of the whole incident. Over two hours had passed since Pelosi's accident. Alcohol is burned off by the human body at a rate of about .016% every hour. Experts in law and medicine say it doesn't matter the size of the person.
So, Mr. Pelosi was smashed at the exact moment when he smashed his car into another vehicle at the intersection of California Route 29 and Oakville Cross Road. But a new report says there was more in Mr. Pelosi’s bloodstream than just a barrel full of booze.
There was a trace of a “drug” found in his system. Pelosi’s speech was reportedly labored and slurred. But that didn’t stop Crazy Nancy’s significant other from playing the popularity card. When asked for his driver’s license, Pelosi also handed officers his CHP ii-99 Foundation card.
Nice try, Mr. Pelosi, but he still got his butt hauled off to jail for DUI. Now, will the lame prosecutors in Napa County, California, do their job? First, Pelosi’s actual BAC at the time of the crash can be “with legally admissible precision.”
The police report included information about Pelosi’s visible condition. He “had red, watery eyes,” was “unsteady on his feet,” and “he had a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from his breath.”
“Pelosi allegedly injured the other driver while under the influence of an alcoholic beverage and a drug (under their combined influence) the first count in the two-charge complaint reads.” Paul Pelosi has made millions by cheating on the stock market with insider information.
But this time, the cheat may not be able to avoid the consequences of his terrible judgment. You can bet Nancy will try to throw her weight around and influence the outcome. This little California DUI case will tell a big story if Paul Pelosi isn’t slammed with a hefty sentence.
