Faced with a situation that is increasingly growing out of control, Texas Governor Greg Abbott has issued special orders to the National Guard and Department of Public Safety in an effort to increase security along the border with Mexico.
Hundreds of patrol cars, Humvees, and trucks are now parked in a formation that creates a vehicle barrier in places that lack the border wall sections proposed by President Trump.
The vehicle barrier, which stretches for several miles, is intended to prevent illegal border crossings back and forth from Ciudad Acuña in Coahuila to Del Rio in Texas.
On our way to @GovAbbott ‘s press conference on border security, we are seeing (quite deliberately, I’m sure) a lot of evidence of the DPS troopers he has sent here to Del Rio pic.twitter.com/zXekTCwc9C

Gov. Abbott decided that he was through playing stupid games with the Biden regime.
“The State of Texas is taking unprecedented steps to secure the border, and we will continue to respond in full force to keep Texans safe,” the Texas governor told reporters during a Tuesday afternoon press conference. “The Biden Administration’s failure to enforce immigration laws and halt illegal crossings on a federal dam poses life-threatening risks to Texans and the migrants themselves.”
“The only thing they have shown is an incapability of dealing with this crisis, candidly in a way where they pretend it doesn’t even exist,” Abbott added. “We’re here to tell you, it exists, it’s total chaos, and the Biden administration, they need to up their game big time.”
This border crossing point has been used by thousands of migrants fleeing violence, political instability, extreme poverty, and natural disasters in Haiti.
A couple of weeks ago, the migrants set up camps under a Del Rio bridge, but they have been walking across the Rio Grande back to Ciudad Acuña in order to get food and hygiene supplies.
While the Biden administration has been deporting hundreds of Haitians from the chaotic encampment on a daily basis, federal efforts to secure the border have been lacking at a time when Border Patrol agents have their hands full trying to manage what has become a humanitarian and security crisis.
