More Details Released About Home The Center Of A Fruad Investigation

New York Attorney General Letitia James is once again under federal scrutiny—this time for her alleged misrepresentation of property ownership and ties to relatives with extensive criminal histories, including one who is an OnlyFans creator with an attempted firearm purchase on her record.

The revelations, reported by the New York Post, cast a sharp spotlight on James' private real estate dealings, which now span multiple DOJ probes.

At the center of this latest controversy is a second Virginia property owned by James, where her 21-year-old relative Cayla Thompson-Hairston resides. In April 2024, Thompson-Hairston was charged with attempting to illegally purchase a firearm despite having a criminal record.

The charge was eventually dropped when a disqualifying felony was pled down to a misdemeanor, according to the Post. Thompson-Hairston is also reportedly an OnlyFans content creator, adding a tabloid twist to an already murky situation.

This is not James' only connection to controversy in Virginia. A separate home in Norfolk—also owned by the attorney general—is at the center of a Department of Justice indictment. That property currently houses Nakia Monique Thompson, James’ grand-niece and a fugitive from North Carolina.

Nakia Thompson is wanted for violating post-trial release conditions and has a history of charges in Virginia, including larceny and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. That last charge stems from a 2019 case in which she allegedly involved a teenage Thompson-Hairston in a theft spree.

Despite being the legal owner of both properties, James is not believed to reside at either location. Neighbors reportedly told the Post that James pays for her family members to live there, but she herself is absent.

Nevertheless, mortgage records obtained by federal investigators indicate that James signed loan documents claiming one of the homes as her “primary residence”—a potentially serious misrepresentation. Federal prosecutors have already indicted her over this claim regarding the Norfolk property.

The Department of Justice has so far declined to comment on the ongoing investigations. James’ office also did not respond to inquiries from the Daily Caller News Foundation. The optics are increasingly problematic for an attorney general who has built her reputation on high-profile legal battles against figures like Donald Trump, while quietly navigating personal and legal turbulence of her own.
