Rino Romney should call it quits at this point. I still can't believe the man calls himself a Republican. Well, he decided to (yet again) go up against Donald Trump and as usual it blew up in his face.
The Washington Examiner reports:
The Morning Consult survey found support for Romney, 72, going down after he called for former national security adviser John Bolton to testify at Trump’s impeachment trial.
The poll shows the senator’s approval rating falling among Utah Republicans from September through December 2019, and independents also shifted to disapproving of Romney over the quarter.
In the third quarter of 2019 65% of Republicans supported Romeny however, that support has now dropped to 57% which for an incumbent in a red state is rock bottom. To no surprise, Romeny did receive more support from Democrats in his state but that’s not going to help him because Utah is one of the reddest states in the country.
From the beginning of the impeachment process, Romeny has come out against President Trump. When the now-infamous transcript of the phone call between President Trump and the leader of Ukraine was release Romney said the conversation was, “troubling.”
Making things worse and playing his usual “rhino” games Romeny has joined a very small group of Republican senators that want John Bolton to testify as a witness in the Senate Impeachment Trial. That decision is what appears to have lead to his support bottoming out.
The Morning Consult stated is surveyed 494,899 different registered US voters from Oct 1st to Dec 31, 2019.
Senators and Congressmen that are Republicans better pay attention, if you aren’t with President Trump you may lose any support that you have. Just like with Romney, their “rhino” games will catch up with them.
You can also watch CNN's Jim Acosta behavior catch up with him when Ivanka Trump swatted him away like a bug, or Senator Lindsey Graham in realtime call out Rep. Schiff during the impeachment trial.
