After CNN reported that President Trump said, at a diabetes event in Washington, “I don’t use insulin. Should I be?” disgraced comedian Kathy Griffin jumped into the fray, suggesting that Trump should take a shot that would likely prove fatal.
“Syringe with nothing but air inside it would do the trick,” she tweeted. “F**K TRUMP.” - The tweet has since been deleted, of course.
Whether Griffin was encouraging President Trump to administer this potentially dangerous shot to himself or suggesting that someone else could pull it off, it is clear that she is advocating for the death of the president – a fact that she quickly confirmed after a conservative news site pointed out the implications of her tweet.
“Comedian advocates for someone to stab President Trump with a syringe full of air. Air embolisms, caused by air getting into the bloodstream, can be fatal,” tweeted the Washington Examiner.
To which Griffin quickly replied: “I SURE DID F**KER.”
After a reporter with the Examiner confirmed that a Twitter representative told him that they would “look into” Griffin’s tweet and whether they are in violation of the site’s rules, Griffin exploded with rage, writing, “Go f**k yourself. Do you wanna tussle with me, you f**king amateur?”
Griffin’s unhinged behavior caught the eye of Donald Trump Jr., who tweeted: “I don’t think past their prime comedians who tweet stupid things should be banned on here, but next time [Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey] bans a conservative for saying something not PC, just remember they have no problem with Dems making death threats against my dad on their platform.”
Yeah, it’s pretty remarkable, that double standard. Not that it should surprise anyone at this point.
As for Griffin, well, you would think she had learned her lesson after she held up a mocked-up bloody Trump head in 2017 and wound up blackballed from the entertainment industry. She lost her New Years’ Eve gig on CNN, her friends decided they wanted nothing more to do with her, and she came within a hair’s breadth of losing her entire career – D-list though it may be. We can only assume that whatever mental derangement she suffers from prevents her from learning from her past mistakes.
For that, she deserves our pity.
But maybe also our scorn.
