Ocasio-Cortez claimed Hong had "moved away" from those views but offered no proof. The mainstream party refuses to distance itself from dangerous extremes.

Scarborough noted that while some DSA members like New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani appear "pragmatic," others say "whacked-out things." He specifically pointed to people attending pro-Hamas rallies after the October 7 attacks. "I think 90% of Americans would think that is abhorrent," he said.
Scarborough argued Democrats try to blur lines by claiming they only support healthcare for all. He insisted they actually support hate speech. "And so, you know, again, they'll try to blur the lines – 'Oh, well, they just don't support healthcare for all' – no, no, we're not saying that. We just [don't] support hate speech," he stated.
The host linked this cultural disconnect to the 2024 election results. He said Republicans weaponized issues like taxpayer-funded surgeries for convicts to win over working-class men. "You couldn't watch an NFL game without seeing 300, 'Taxpayers are going to pay for trans surgeries for convicts' ads," he said.
These ads moved voters across all demographics toward President Trump. Democrats failed to confront these divisive issues effectively. Scarborough believes the party lost because it ignored the "obvious" anger of everyday Americans.
