Joe Manchin Tells Reporters Exactly Why He Voted Against Democrats' Election Takeover

Thankfully, two Democrat Senators, Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema derailed the Democrats' efforts to federalize the elections process and thereby ensuring that they remain in control forever.

Just think about the last two big issues that they've been pushing for: federalizing elections and abolishing the filibuster. They are power hungry. That's all it is. They are making a power grab because they are afraid that they're going to lose the House and Senate and they need to do what they can to try and protect their majority.

The sad thing now is that Joe Manchin is going to get so much criticism from his own party following his recent vote, but it was the right vote.

But in an interview with a reporter, Manchin explained the thought process behind his vote and it makes perfect sense.

The reporter asked Manchin, “There are a lot of people out there who are saying that you’re making it so that they’re not going to be able to vote in the next election?”

Manchin said, "Well, there are a lot of people who either ignorant of the facts or they are lying." Then we went on to elaborate further.

“The law’s there. The rules are there. And basically, the government. The government will stand behind them and make sure they have the right to vote. We have that. The things they’re talking about now are in court. Marc Elias has an awful lot in court. The courts have struck down, like in Ohio, they struck down the gerrymandering. Things are happening, okay. We act like we’re going to obstruct people from voting. That’s not going to happen.”

This is exactly what I've been saying all along. Republicans do not want to suppress any voters who are legally allowed to vote. They just want to prevent fraud from happening and that is all. It's not too much to ask people to show a da*n ID to vote when they're so gung-ho about requires another type of ID to buy a freaking hamburger from a restaurant.

But they're hypocrites so what do you expect?
