In an alarming revelation that raises serious questions about political neutrality at the highest levels of federal law enforcement, the House Judiciary Committee announced Tuesday that the FBI’s shadowy “Arctic Frost” operation may have swept up more than 150 Republican officials, allies, and former Trump administration figures in a vast and largely undisclosed investigation.
Documents obtained by the committee — totaling nearly 200 pages — paint a picture of a Biden-era Department of Justice willing to stretch the boundaries of surveillance and investigative reach under the guise of national security and post-election integrity. The operation began under FBI Director Christopher Wray and appears to have continued, and even expanded, under Special Counsel Jack Smith and Attorney General Merrick Garland.

Among the 45 individuals named as potentially targeted? Former White House strategist Steve Bannon, Rep. Scott Perry, former Trump Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, Rudy Giuliani, DOJ official Jeffrey Clark, and Trump attorney John Eastman. All of them — lightning rods of conservative influence — allegedly came under some level of scrutiny. But the sweep didn’t end there.
The committee’s review suggests another 111 individuals, including Dan Scavino, Peter Navarro, and former acting Attorney General Jeff Rosen, were also pulled into the probe’s orbit. If accurate, that brings the total scope of Arctic Frost to nearly 160 people, many of whom are deeply embedded in the GOP’s institutional framework — from lawmakers to legal minds to activists.
Yesterday, our office sent a letter to @AGPamBondi requesting that the Administration open a criminal investigation into Jack Smith and his grave violation of the Fourth Amendment during Operation Arctic Frost.
Our letter has 26 signatures.
We must take all the steps available… pic.twitter.com/sB6Tz1peLW

What’s perhaps most disturbing is the extent of secrecy surrounding the operation. Internal FBI emails from May 2022 show communication between field offices thanking one another for assistance with Arctic Frost interviews — all flagged “restricted” in official systems. In one instance, the Arctic Frost team requested over $16,000 in travel expenses to conduct more than 40 interviews, serve subpoenas, and search devices across a wide range of battleground states, including Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.
The FBI tagged its internal communications with terms like “FRAUD CORRUPT,” “PCORRUPT,” and “PCORRUPT_CAMP,” and used a document dubbed “Subpoena_Counsel_Matrix” to list dozens of figures connected to the GOP, alleged electors, and government staffers linked to the 2020 election. Some of this activity appears to have been done in cooperation with the Biden White House Counsel’s Office, a revelation that only deepens concerns about partisanship inside federal institutions.
Just received this doc frm DOJ Proof that Biden Atty General Merrick Garland+ Deputy Atty General Lisa Monaco+ FBI Dir Chris Wray all PERSONALLY APPROVED opening Arctic Frost

Perhaps most damning: Senator Chuck Grassley’s office has released evidence suggesting that Wray, Garland, and then-Deputy AG Lisa Monaco all signed off on launching Arctic Frost — a move now viewed by critics as an attempt to criminalize political opposition under the banner of “protecting democracy.”
And as if the surveillance wasn’t wide enough, whistleblower claims now allege that phone records belonging to GOP Senators Josh Hawley and Marsha Blackburn were also monitored — a charge leveled by former Secret Service agent and conservative commentator Dan Bongino.
