It's about time! Jussie Smollett thought he was in the clear for his staged 'hate crime', but thankful it looks like justice will still be served. The 'Empire' actor allegedly paid two Nigerian brothers to attack him in an effort to frame Trump supports for a hate crime and gain publicity.
More from The Blaze:
Special prosecutor Dan Webb announced Tuesday that he has decided to move forward with prosecuting Smollett, after "a Cook County grand jury returned a six-count indictment charging Jussie Smollett with making four separate false reports to Chicago Police Department officers related to his false claims that he was the victim of a hate crime, knowing that he was not the victim of a crime."
Dan Webb, the special prosecutor wrote the following, "The grand jury's investigation revealed that Jussie Smollett planned and participated in a staged hate crime attack, and thereafter made numerous false statements to Chicago Police Department officers on multiple occasions, reporting a heinous hate crime that he, in fact, knew had not occurred."
Smollet was apparently harassed and jumped by masked men yelling "MAGA country". He took it as homophobic and racist.
It was later conceived by Chicago police that Smollet was using this as a way to gain attention and fame for his acting career. Since then he has been charged with 16 felonies by the grand jury in March 2019 for his fake allegations. But mysteriously the charges were dropped by Cook County State's Attorney Kim Foxx...
That's where Dan Webb comes in. He is investigating why he had all charges dropped by Foxx.
"Has obtained sufficient factual evidence to determine that it disagrees with how the CCSAO resolved the Smollett case." -Dan Webb
Jussie Smollett will be appearing in court to prove his innocence on February 24th, 2020. He has apparently repeatedly said how innocent he is. I don't buy into it at all.
